Our Mission
Give Me Shelter California is a minority woman-owned 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to restoring dignity, improving well-being, and creating pathways to stability for individuals and families experiencing homelessness throughout California and Southern Nevada.

Our Vision
Our vision is a community where homelessness does not define a person’s future and everyone has access to basic needs, essential resources, and support. We envision communities working together to ensure no one is forgotten and every person has an opportunity to regain dignity, stay connected, and move toward a more stable tomorrow.
We built GMSC with purpose, not for recognition; with compassion, not competition; and with the understanding that real change requires people who are willing to show up even when the work is difficult and the resources are limited.
Our Plan
Our plan is to take essential services directly to people experiencing homelessness and hardship, reaching the places others may overlook. Through mobile showers, food, clothing, hygiene supplies, document assistance, mailing addresses, and resource connections, we help restore dignity, strengthen stability, and create pathways toward shelter, housing, and a better future.
Seek and reach people where they are
and conducting street outreach in underserved areas, encampments, and other locations where people experiencing homelessness may be disconnected from services.
We may be a young organization, but we have the drive of a lion, the heart of a servant, and the determination to turn our vision into action.
Our Model
Step 1: Seek and reach people where they are
Initial goal: Establish trust, identify immediate needs, and offer help without judgment.
Step 2: Address immediate needs
Provide hygiene kits, clothing, water, shower-access assistance, and other available essentials.
Purpose: Help restore dignity and address immediate barriers while building trust.
Step 3: Identify each person’s needs
With permission, use a simple needs assessment to understand whether the individual needs emergency shelter, housing assistance, healthcare, identification or document support, education, employment, food, or benefits.
Purpose: Connect people to appropriate services rather than giving everyone the same referral list.
Step 4: Connect people to partner organizations
Maintain a verified directory of housing providers, healthcare clinics, adult education programs, workforce development agencies, veteran services, benefits programs, and other community resources.
Purpose: Make a warm referral helping the person contact the provider, understand the next steps, and identify any documents required.
Step 5: Follow up and measure progress
With consent and appropriate privacy safeguards, check whether the individual was able to reach the provider and whether additional assistance is needed.
Purpose: Identify referral barriers, make additional connections, and document outcomes.
