who we are

GIVE ME SHELTER CALIFORNIA INC.

Is a woman owned 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people overcome poverty and homelessness. Through mobile outreach and targeted community engagement, we bring vital resources directly to those in need- because building stronger, more resilient communities means meeting people where they are. We offer several programs specifically for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. We can help you get legal ID so you can join a housing program, sign a lease, obtain employment, access medical care, and, if you have school-age children, enroll them in school. A mailing address allows you to receive important correspondence, and stay in touch with loved ones.

Our mission

To stand beside our unhoused and low-income neighbors every step of the way. From hot meals and warm showers to case management and creative outlets, every program is designed to help people find stability, healing, and hope.

We believe love is action, and service transforms lives. Every person who comes to us is met with dignity, respect, and compassion, whether they need food, support, or simply someone to see and hear them. Your support makes this possible. Together we can give more than shelter. Let’s bring hope back home to California!

Our vision

No one in California is left behind and everyone has the chance to thrive. We are committed to building a future where every person, no matter their circumstances is valued, supported, and empowered.

We strive for a state where homelessness is rare, brief, and never repeated, and where every neighbor has the tools and opportunities to build a stable, fulfilling life.

Our story

WHY OUR MISSION MATTERS Housing first is not just compassionate.-It’s smart policy. Helping our unhoused neighbors isn’t charity, it’s an investment in a healthier, safer, and more prosperous California.
